Major Motoko, like New Shinjuku City, has emerged from the ruins of kinetic and cyber wars, reborn through the symbiotic fusion of flesh and cybernetics. After waking up lost and disoriented, she reloads her memory from the Grid and regains her place as lead of the Cyber Task Force. But who or what is this mysterious entity taking over the Grid and citizen allegiances? Is it a super intelligent AI? Will Motoko and the task force also lose their souls to the mysterious Platinum Prophet cyber entity if they fail in their mission to save New Shinjuku?
