Synopsis
Tourism to places where movies and television series have been filmed is not a new phenomenon, having its roots in literary tourism. Survey of aspects of tourism to film studios as well as to film sites. The potential of film-induced tourism is explored, the effect on local communities, which is not always positive, in the case of small communities. Examples of effects on tourism, for instance the effect of the Lord of the Rings on tourism in New Zealand.
