A Hard Old Love Amongst Scavengers

At forty-six, Miles MacPherson gives it all up for the little cottage he has built on the slopes of his native Cape Breton Island. He has travelled around the globe several times, and has grown weary of cars, planes, and people. He wants to stay away from all. However, visitors climb to his door to talk of their ailments. They leave refreshed, thank him, though he has said no words. Visits end when he needs help.
